Adaptive cruise control problem honda

My 2017 Pilot Elite's adaptive cruise control (ACC) doesn't work quite right. Works fine when the road is straight, or when road veers left (the system "sees" the car in front), but if the road veers right the Pilot's sensors lose the car in front. This situation is easy to track with the filled-in vs. outlined car symbol in the instrument cluster.
