We had been getting closed captions on freevee for quite a while - we use a firestick - but they disappeared on both shows we've been watching - The Bridge and Alex Ryder - this week. I've checked the firestick settings to make sure CC is turned on. While watching the shows I've opened the CC settings, selected on and closed it.
