The current Nitro 27 factory loads are loaded with an extremely dense spherical (flattened ball) powder that has been reported to be Hodgdon's "Titegroup" or a very similar non-canister version of such. It is so dense that the TGT12 green wad is used with 1 1/8oz loads!

Perfect Pattern is MY new favorite powder for 1 ounce target loads in tapered wall hulls. A 1 1/8 ounce load is about the limit of it's ability to work well. Consequently I've been loading my 7/8s shells with 16.6 grains of Nitro100 2023 Hodgdon data for AA hulls, Titewad In STS hull wad recommendation. I just sent an email to Hodgon to get their input on my load I'm doing. I'm using STS hulls with Titewad powder (16.5 gr) 1 1/8oz shot. Per Hodgdon website I should be able to use a Windjammer wad. Unfortunately when I do use that wad with no seating pressure I get dished crimps., Cheddites are straight wall and you will get some migration using tapered wads like Fig 8's or AA's (or clones). You are better using CB6100/2100 (18's) or any of the straight wall import wads. I put the brass washer under the rubber washer and if I tighten the powder bottle down the charge bar will stick.
